We deviated from the show formula a bit and I asked Josh a question geared directly towards his expertise: What are top marketers doing to drive more traffic with LinkedIn than any other source?
- Content Distribution: Sharing your information with your groups. It’s a low hanging fruit to drive traffic to your website, your content blogs, landing pages, etc.
- Publishing on Linked In (Pulse): Long form articles you can now publish on LinkedIn. The Editors curate some of the best articles, and if your articles get featured, your name and influence can really blow up. The audience on LinkedIn is so much larger than some people’s blogs will ever be, so it’s a great platform to reach more readers.
- LinkedIn Ads: Sponsored updates are LinkedIn’s version of Facebook Homepage ads; your sponsored updates can show up in the feed of many people’s LinkedIn page.
Josh Turner’s parting piece of advice is
“No matter what size business you are, try new things. Every month we look at trying some big, new, marketing thing, and whether that’s an internal project or outsourcing something, the way I look at it is if one out of every three of those new initiatives we look at from a marketing standpoint pans out, then it’ll be a long term success. Then we’ve got more growth that will come as a result of that.”
